Is Teaching for YOU?

Welcome to Blizzard Bags 2014-1015!

This year, you will choose your favorite age grouping--think about your cousins, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. WHich group is your favorite? 0 to two year olds? Two and three year olds? Four and Five year olds? Middle childhood?  CHoose the group you want.

Go to Google and search for information about your favorite group. Answer the following questions:

1.  Describe the physical development that happens to a child during the time frame you chose--size and shape; reflexes;motor sequences. How do gross motor skills change during the age group? How are fine motor skills developing?

2. What happens in Cognitive Development during the time you selected? What is happening in the child's brain during that time? Is language comprehension changing? Are the children beginning to talk? Does the child understand you? What is happening with their expressive language?

3.  Describe how the children in the age group you chose demonstrate social and emotional development. Do they use body language to help get their feelings across? How do they play with their friends?

4.  How do you teach children in this age group?

When you have found the answers to the questions and typed out the answers in a google doc. Be sure to list the sites at the end of your answers and share your google docs with me. If you need help, you can email me at dburrows@govwentworth.k12.nh.us.
